As mentioned in my emails and earlier in this blog, I’ve invited Christians to participate in the Ramandan fast. This means no food and water during daylight hours so that we can have focused prayer directed toward Muslims. Of course, I don’t want to introduce any new legalisms, so feel free to fast every day or only on weekends, or whatever. The most important thing is to pray. Personally I’m going to try to do it the “official” way as an act of solidarity, though Cambodia is quite hot so I may either give in and drink or end up with kidney stones.
My teammate, Hayden, created a list of Muslim conflicts around the world to help guide our prayers. I’ll be sure to post his other resources here as well.
Finally, those in the know will note that I began Ramadan on September 12, rather than 13. Though it was a mistake, I’m glad because it gives me today to experiment and see when I need to wake up, how much to drink in the morning, etc.
Here is the prayer list, enjoy!
